Versatile standard focal length with high lens speed
The Samyang 50 mm/T1.5 is a lens that belongs in every video kit. With an angle of view of approx. 46° in full format, it corresponds to natural human vision. Therefore, the lens is excellently suited for films from the viewer's perspective, as well as for reportage. The lens puts the subject in the right light. Objects retain the impression of their actual size and are not compressed or stretched.
With a lens speed of T1.5, the lens has enough reserves to deliver excellent images even in less favourable lighting conditions.
Designed for videography
This lens from Samyang was developed for the special demands of videographers. The aperture can be continuously adjusted from 1.5 to 22 and the focus adjustment is soft and smooth. This allows for smooth tracking of the focus, especially when shooting video. The aperture ring and focus ring are equipped with a toothed ring and are thus optimised for use with focus pullers (follow focus systems) and simplify use when filming. For better legibility, the distance and aperture scales are arranged on the side.
High quality optics
The lens features an eight-blade aperture that allows for an almost circular aperture, guaranteeing a beautiful bokeh. Multi-coating of all lenses used in the lens is standard at Samyang. It enables a higher light yield, better colour rendition and higher contrast. The lens has 9 lenses in 6 groups. Another advantage is the special construction of the lens, which allows polarising filters to be used easily and without complications.
Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor
Save time in post-processing. A lot of lens aberrations like distortion, edge blur or vignetting occur on the outer areas of the image. If you use a lens calculated for full format on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. This way you get the maximum quality. Additional post-processing time to correct lens errors is therefore not necessary.
